BOARD OF DIRECTORS (BOD) ELECTION NOMINATIONS
My Goal as President
My goal as President is to provide responsible leadership, protect Club resources, promote transparency, maintain our facilities, and serve all members and shooting disciplines at Pima Pistol Club.
My career began in education, where I taught chemistry and physics at the high school and junior college levels for nine years. I then spent most of my professional career in the bowling industry, retiring in 2013 as Vice President of Sales for Brunswick Bowling. Throughout my career, I gained extensive experience in leadership, operations, financial responsibility, and working effectively with people.

I began shooting in 2012 and have since been actively involved in the shooting sports and in serving Pima Pistol Club. I have served as Match Director for both Action Pistol and Steel Challenge and bring hands-on experience in range leadership, safety, competition, and firearms training.
My qualifications include serving as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Basic Pistol Instructor, and former IDPA Safety Officer. Most recently, I have served as President of Pima Pistol Club since September 2026.

My Commitment to the Members of PPC
Transparency
I am committed to keeping Club business open, transparent, and accountable to the membership. Executive Sessions should be reserved for matters that genuinely require confidentiality.

Financial Responsibility
Club funds belong to the membership and must be managed responsibly. Our financial resources should be used for legitimate Club activities, necessary expenses, and improvements that benefit the membership.
​
Facilities & Equipment
I will prioritize range maintenance, timely repairs, and responsible equipment decisions. We must take care of what we have before spending money on things we do not need.
​
Supporting All Shooting Disciplines
Pima Pistol Club has a long and proud tradition of promoting the shooting sports and supporting matches and competitions. Our Articles of Incorporation recognize the importance of fostering and encouraging shooting activities and competitions for our members and others.

I moved to Arizona from Massachusetts in 1990 and have been here ever since. Growing up as a military kid, I attended schools in Spain, Morocco, and the United States. I served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1978.
I’m a lifelong motorcycle enthusiast and have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles. My two Gold Wings have logged some 500,000 miles—so I’ve learned a thing or two about maintenance, planning, and staying on the road.
In 2013 I joined Pima Pistol Club as a casual shooter, looking to enjoy pistol shooting and meet some new friends. That eventually led to competing in Steel Challenge and Action Pistol. I currently serve as the Steel Challenge Match Director and have filled in with Rimfire Challenge and Action Pistol when needed.
I’m running for an open Member position on the PPC Board. My priorities are straightforward:
Promote a safe, welcoming, member-centered club
Maintain and improve our facilities
Communicate clearly and openly with members.
Be responsible with the club’s finances
Listen to members’ ideas, concerns, and, yes, even their complaints
If elected, I’ll work with other directors to retain what’s good about PPC while looking forward to the club's future. I believe in following our bylaws, treating members fairly, and remembering a simple fact: Pima Pistol Club belongs to its members.

Candidate for Board Member, Pima Pistol Club
My wife, Mary, and I have been married for 62 years and have called Tucson home for most of our lives. I bought my first pistol when I was 19 and have enjoyed hunting elk, deer, and coyote over the years. I’ve been an active member of Pima Pistol Club for more than four decades and have served on the Board three previous times.
I’m running for an open Member seat on the PPC Board because I care about this club and want to help keep it strong. I’ve spent many years shooting at PPC and volunteering my time—helping set up competitive matches and pitching in on various handyman projects around the club.
I want PPC to remain a place where members can practice, compete, learn, and enjoy the camaraderie that has been part of the club for generations.If elected, I’ll focus on practical improvements, range safety, and keeping the club’s governance and business dealings open and straightforward. I’m not looking to change things just for the sake of change. I want to build on what works, fix what needs attention, and make sure we continue to operate the club to a high standard.
Most of all, I want to help keep Pima Pistol Club a safe, positive, and welcoming place where members can enjoy shooting, compete with others, and continue improving their skills.

I have been an active member of Pima Pistol Club since 2006. This club has grown immensely over those years, and I am proud to have been a part of the Club’s success. In the past, I have proudly served as a Board Member, Vice-President and President of Pima Pistol Club. I have served responsibly and honorably to promote the safety, camaraderie and respect our Club is well known for across Arizona.

I hold national membership in IDPA, USPSA, ICORE and the NRA. In the past I have served as Match Director for ICORE, IDPA and assisted with state matches hosted at Pima Pistol Club. I am a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
​
I have always worked closely with club members and the Board and promote honesty, respect and safety to ensure positive growth and expansion of services and programs for our membership. I have used my skills and professional knowledge to help with various construction projects that we all continue to use and enjoy today. I have proven myself to be an honest, hardworking member who has always placed the needs of Pima Pistol Club first.
