Due to the large size of this class, the classroom portion on Day 1, Saturday, November 4, 2023 will be conducted @ the Casas Church facility in the Cholla # 101 classroom.

The address for the Casas Church in Tucson is;

10801 N. La Cholla Blvd. Tucson, AZ. 85742

You are welcome to arrive at the church any time after 0730 and report directly to the Cholla # 101 classroom when you arrive.  Please adjust your travel time accordingly to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class starting so you can check in with the instructors and we can get the class started on time.

DO NOT bring any live ammunition into the church or classroom with you! Please make sure that the firearms and magazines you are using in the class are empty prior to entering the hotel!

All firearms should be transported empty, in a gun case. Please be discreet with your firearms and transport all gun cases, holsters, magazines and gun belts in a duffel bag when entering and exiting the Casas Church facility.

Day 2 and Day 3 of this class will be conducted at the Pima Pistol Club in Catalina, Arizona on Range Bay # 4.

The address for the Pima Pistol Club is;

13990 N. Lago Del Oro Parkway Catalina, AZ. 85739

For Sunday and Monday, class will start at the Pima Pistol Club on Range Bay # 4 promptly at 0800 hours and will run until 1730 hours each day. Please adjust your travel time accordingly to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to class starting each day so you can gear up and we can get started on time.

When you arrive at the main gate of the Pima Pistol Club, please check in at the Range Safety Officer shack, just past the gate on the left side of the range road. Let the RSO know that you are there to attend the Spartan Tactical class on Range Bay # 4 and he will direct you to that range bay.

We will break for lunch from 1230 to 1315 hours each day. There will not be enough time to leave the range and get back in time for the afternoon session, so we recommend that you bring a bag lunch or cooler with food and eat your lunch at the range. We will have access to the classroom at the range during the lunch break and you are welcome to eat your lunch in the classroom there.

Bring plenty of water or Gatorade with you to class each day so you will have something to drink and stay hydrated.  Avoid drinking excessive soda or sugar heavy power drinks (Monster, Red Bull, etc.) while at class as these will contribute to dehydration and fatigue.

There is A LOT of drawing from the holster and re-holstering in this class so make sure the shirt you wear to class is not bulky and can be tucked into your pants so it won't interfere with drawing and re-holstering your handgun.

Be sure to review the course description, equipment requirements and ammunition requirements for this class on the Team Spartan website prior to coming to the class. You can also visit the link below:

The address for the Pima Pistol Club is;

If you need any assistance with locating the Pima Pistol Club, you can contact our Spartan Tactical liaison in Tucson; Rob Lisak on his cell phone at (708) 508-1413 for more information.

Class will start in the classroom building next to Range Bay # 4 promptly at 0800 hours and will run until 1730 hours each day.

Let the RSO know that you are there to attend the Spartan Tactical rifle training class on Range Bay # 4 and he will direct you to that range bay.

We will have access to the classroom at the range during the lunch breaks and you are welcome to eat your lunch in the classroom there.

Plan on bringing snacks, power bars and plenty of water or Gatorade with you to class each day so you will have something to snack on and drink during the breaks.  Avoid drinking excessive soda or sugar heavy power drinks (Monster, Red Bull, etc.) while at class as these will contribute to dehydration and fatigue.

Wear loose fitting, light colored clothing that you will be comfortable in as we will be doing some shooting from kneeling and prone positions. Bring a baseball type cap or boonie hat as we require that you wear a hat during this course. Absolutely no shorts or sandals will be allowed on the range during this course !!! I also recommend bringing knee pads and elbow pads. We have a limited amount of loaner pads available on a first come - first serve basis.

Bring a towel or shemagh to cover your neck during the class to keep hot brass off the sides & back of your neck while working live-fire drills. Shemaghs work great as they can also be used to cover your nose and mouth, should any dust kick up from high winds.

We will shoot in the rain so bring rain gear, a dry towel and change of clothes with you to the range in the event it should rain. Be sure to review the course description, equipment requirements and ammunition requirements for this class on the Team Spartan website prior to coming to the class. You can also visit the link below:

https://www.teamspartan.com/teamspartan_Spartan_Tactical_firearms_training_in_Illinois_2-day-Defensive-Rifle-Certification-Course.htm

I will have loaner slings and loaner 30-round magazines available at the class for student use.

If you do not have an extended latch style charging handle on your rifle yet, I will have some available at the class. This latch will assist you with ease of charging handle operation and are strongly recommended. You still have time to purchase one prior to the class. I recommend the extended latch and ambidextrous latch style charging handles from BCM-GunFighter, Radian and Troy. All are excellent choices. Ambidextrous charging handles will work best!

Be sure to print out this E-mail and bring it with you on your trip to the range.

We're looking forward to training with you and we'll see you at the class in November.
